Designing the Project

The new museum building will be a 21st century icon for both the Olympic Movement and for Colorado Springs. The architecture will represent the values and spirit of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympics in its design.

Other essential goals for the building are:

  • Full accessibility for all visitors.
  • State of the art technology incorporated throughout.
  • Energy efficiency and enviornmental sustainability. The project will strive for the highest LEED (Leadership in Energy, and Enviornmental Design) standards.

The Museum sponsors will invite American architects with strong backgrounds in museum and cultural design to submit credentials for review.
