Design Architect

About: Diller Scofidio + Renfro is an interdisciplinary design studio that integrates architecture, the visual arts and the performing arts. Based in New York City, the 115-person studio is led by four principals – Elizabeth Diller, Ricardo Scofidio, Charles Renfro, and Benjamin Gilmartin – who work collaboratively on the design of each project. For their commitment to merging art and architecture with issues of contemporary culture, Ms. Diller and Mr. Scofidio were recognized by the MacArthur Foundation with the "genius" award, the first given in the field of architecture. Recent and ongoing projects include: the redevelopment of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the expansion of the Museum of Modern Art, and the new start-up Culture Shed, all in New York; the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston; Brown University Creative Arts Center, Providence; The Broad Museum, Los Angeles; UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, Berkeley; and the Museum of Image and Sound, Rio de Janeiro.

About: Anderson Mason Dale Architects (AMD) is a 40-person architecture firm located in Denver, Colorado.  For 40 years, AMD has designed buildings for colleges and universities, schools, libraries, cultural venues, justice facilities, and housing. AMD has twice been awarded the American Institute of Architects Firm Award for "a distinguished body of work." A design firm with extensive experience in museum, gallery and visitor facilities, AMD also has worked with design architects to provide contractual oversight and local relationships. AMD's local work includes the El Paso County Terry R. Harris Judicial Complex and Colorado College's Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center, both in association, and the UCCS Lane Center for Academic Health Sciences.

By fully immersing themselves in subject matter, Dennis and Kathy Barrie strive to tell interesting stories that provide dynamic educational and interactive opportunities. Barrie Projects has created museums dedicated to the history of rock 'n' roll, international spying and organized crime; and developed cultural master plans and visions for cities and universities.

Working with Barrie Projects is Michael Devine, an expert in business and strategic planning for museums and other cultural ventures. As managing partner at Algonquin Museum Services, Michael Devine leads the firm's museum development projects. From initial project concept to capital funding to development to project operations, Algonquin serves as a consultant, agent or partner to organize and execute the complex museum development process for both non-profit and for-profit entities.
